ROCHESTER, N.Y., February 7, 2019 – Alaris, a Kodak Alaris business, will showcase its award-winning solutions for automating document-based business processes at HIMSS19. HIMSS (the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society) is a not-for-profit organization that serves the global Health IT community and leads efforts to optimize health engagements and patient outcomes using information and technology. Its Global Conference and Exhibition is one of the largest industry events of its kind. Alaris will exhibit from February 12-14 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
Alaris has a broad portfolio of document scanners designed to meet a variety of needs, from single-patient, point of care interactions to high-volume scanning for large batches of paper-based medical records. At HIMSS19, Alaris will demonstrate new ways for healthcare providers to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and improve compliance, all while enhancing patient care and experience. The Alaris booth (#7565) will feature next generation solutions that capture, recognize, extract, manage and securely exchange medical information. Visitors will participate in “hands-on” demos of the latest scanners and software from Alaris and learn about service offerings that ensure maximum uptime and reliability. Demonstrations will mirror some of the tasks that clinicians and administrative staff face daily. Attendees can also talk to Alaris’ dedicated team of experts and learn how the latest intelligent capture solutions are taking cost and complexity out of the paper-intensive process of managing medical records.
Production Scanners Power Through Back File Conversion of Medical Records
Taking center stage at HIMSS19 will be the Kodak i4850 Scanner. With hospitals under pressure to achieve a paperless environment as prescribed in Stage 7 of the HIMSS EMR Adoption Model (EMRAM), this high-volume production scanner can power through hard copy medical records with speeds up to 150 pages per minute. Key features include Intelligent Document Protection to prevent jams or misfeeds. Dual LED technology produces high OCR read rates for more precise data extraction, while maintaining fast scanning speeds for high volume jobs. Built-in metal detection maximizes uptime, preventing unexpected breakdowns, damaged documents and costly repairs caused by forgotten staples and paper clips. And a straight-through paper path enables the digitization of a wide range of document shapes and sizes.
Streamline hospital discharge process with the newly launched S2000 series
The Alaris S2080w Scanner will also be on display. It features a small footprint with Embedded Image Processing that does not require a host PC, intuitive pre-programmed settings for pre-determined destinations with SmartTouch technology, and authentication PIN codes for enhanced security. This fast, powerful scanner is ideal for streamlining the paper-intensive hospital discharge process.
Ensure coordination of care with secure fax replacement
Alaris will also showcase the Kodak Scan Station i730EX. With multiple EMRs and healthcare organizations at different stages of implementation and integration with larger networks, achieving interoperability and successfully exchanging patient records can be challenging. This robust network scanner streamlines and simplifies the transfer of patients’ medical records to help ensure coordination of care between doctors’ offices. The Scan Station i730 requires no host PC and enables multiple operators in an office to scan or fax medical records to other offices.
Create better accessibility to patient information during admissions and intake
Attendees will also see the Kodak ScanMate i1150 Scanner from Alaris. This compact desktop device can help kick-start automation and drive efficiency in the patient onboarding/admissions process. Equipped with standard drivers, Alaris scanners can easily be integrated within existing and legacy EMRs, eliminating extra steps in the capture process and complicated software installation. For those organizations that have implemented mobile technology, the ScanMate+ Mobile App lets users scan to a tablet or mobile phone, making it convenient to share files via email and upload to cloud-based applications for immediate access.
“Alaris has a strong heritage in the provision of tailored solutions to meet the full complement of customers’ requirements within the healthcare sector,” said Katie Sullivan-Armento, Sales Director, United States & Canada for Alaris, a Kodak Alaris business. “HIMSS19 brings together over 45,000 health information and technology professionals, clinicians, executives and market suppliers from around the world. We are delighted to be attending and look forward to demonstrating our solutions and expertise at the show.”
Attendees are encouraged to set a reminder to visit the Alaris booth by visiting the HIMSS19 website.
