ROCHESTER, N.Y., December 3, 2020 – Kodak Alaris will participate in a virtual event on December 8th to explore the challenges and opportunities presented by a federal government mandate to achieve paperless records management. The M-19-21 memorandum establishes new goals that support government-wide efforts to transition Federal agencies’ business processes and record-keeping to a fully electronic environment and end the National Archives and Records Administration’s (NARA) acceptance of paper records by December 31, 2022.
Presented by QAI, a Konica Minolta Company, and Federal Computer Week (FCW) magazine, Electronic Records Readiness: Turning M-19-21 Plans into Action is the fourth in a series of half-day virtual events designed to help government agencies understand the changes required to implement entirely electronic records management and comply with M-19-21. Joe Yankle, Director U.S. Public Sector, Alaris division of Kodak Alaris, will sit on the event’s Premier Innovation Panel, which will share practical steps that agencies should take to make the upcoming deadline, including best practices for scaling existing document capture solutions to maximize technology investments.
“Digital transformation isn’t just about making a copy of paper documents,” said Yankle. “The usability of captured information is critical. We want to make sure the best possible information extraction occurs from the highest quality images. Our goal is to work with partners like QAI to solve government agencies’ M-19-21 challenges and push progress forward.”
Joining Yankle on the Premier Innovation Panel will be Markus Most, Special Assistant, National Archives and Records Administration (NARA); Jeremy Hogg, VP of Federal, Kofax; and Tyler Morris, Senior Director of Government Solutions, Iron Mountain.
