When Lucy Adame-Clark took office as the Bexar County Clerk, she recognized the urgent need for innovation and modernization within the county clerk's office. With a 40-year backlog of document archives, Bexar County needed a solution that could quickly digitize records from all county offices and make them accessible to the court system in real time. The solution had to be intuitive, user-friendly, and capable of handling various document types from multiple departments.
For expert advice, she brought in Carlos Gutierrez, VP of Sales and Marketing for Compu-Data International. He recommended Kodak Alaris solutions, and this started a digitization journey that would streamline document management, improve efficiency, and harmonize data across multiple departments.
Carlos recommended Kodak Info Input Solution and Kodak i4250 Scanners to address Bexar County's many challenges. The i4250 Scanners facilitate fast and efficient document scanning. The image data goes directly into Info Input Solution, which intelligently classifies, indexes, extracts, and delivers high-quality data and documents directly into the county systems with minimal human intervention. Compu-Data and Kodak Alaris worked together to ensure that Bexar County received the necessary training, support, and equipment to successfully implement the solution.
Lucy Adame-Clark, Bexar County Clerk, said, "The Kodak Alaris solution has been very successful because we've been able to capture documents without any tedious manual effort. We're able to capture a lot of documents fast and make sure that they're scanned correctly."
The Kodak Alaris solution allowed Bexar County to quickly scan their 40-year backlog of documents and automatically upload the data into their system—without manual data entry and the human error risk that goes along with it. All departments, including criminal court, probate court, bookkeeping, treasury records, bonds and warrants, motions, and traffic appeals were able to modernize their processes and work more efficiently.
"Kodak Alaris and Carlos’ team at Compu-Data provided excellent support from day one," Lucy Adame-Clark said. "They've been with us every step of the way, helping us understand the systems and the powerful tools that Kodak Alaris provides."
Lucy Rigby, who oversees the civil departments and criminal filing in Bexar County Court, also shared her experiences.
